sure you can. just expect a lot of traffic. the causeway can be intimidating with a lot of traffic on it, being two lanes and all. and if there is an accident, it will be backed up for ages.

I like Safety Harbor and Dunedin (spelling) but there are good and bad parts of Clearwater like every where else. RT 60 going in and out of the city too Clearwater is a night mare most of the time and during spring break you could sit on the bridge for hours and not move. Go to citydata.com and check out all the stats and info there.

About Relocating from NJ to Tampa. I will work in downtown, and my husband in Largo. Where should we live

Relocating from NJ to Tampa. I will work in downtown, and my husband in Largo. Where should we live?
We have it narrowed down to two big houses in Pasco (one in Ballantrae and one in Concord Station), one townhouse in Westchase area, and one townhouse on Bayshore road (ballast point). We are trying to make our final decision today. Any guidance? It seems that the further you go out, the bigger a place you can get, and they are cheaper. But the commute times get really bad. We would appreciate any guidance.

Personally I would take the Ballast Point. It's an easy commute to both work locations and the S. Tampa area has a uniqueness to it that you won't find in Pasco. I also have a townhome for sale in that area. Maybe you've seen it? http://www.TampaBayDwellings.com/Bayshore The sellers motivated and are looking for an offer if you are interested! The resale market in Pasco is also poor right now because of extremely high inventory. If you should decide to move sooner because of the commute the equity may not be as great. Good Luck!

Pasco is a far drive each day from Bayshore and driving to Downtown from Pasco is a bit unreasonable with gas prices as high as they are. Westchase is a pretty good compromise because it's closer to some areas of Pasco like Wesly Chapel. I think you should pick a neighborhood that has Hartline (www.hartline.org) Park-n-Ride to Downtown close by it. Because it's easy to commute from almost anywhere to Downtown if you with a bus stop nearby (Route 59LX Westchase / Town 'N Country Limited Express) Why? Because Westchase property values are GREAT! It has beautiful schools, crime is still relatively low and it has access to and proximity to shopping centers, it has a lot of elderly but good families live there as well, if you decide to have a family, there are great schools, that your children can attend and you will have great restaurants and lovely entertainment with breaking your budget (Citrus Park Town Center MALL is very close! and so is Clearwater Beach!). Yes, South Tampa Bayshore is great too but it's going to raise your expenses to live so close to the water, it floods when it rains there, you will have to probably evacuate early during Hurricane Warning times, and though I love that area because of it's old historic charm and nouveau looks, it's not the melting pot of loveliness and friendliness you will find in Westchase, as Westchase borders Oldsmar (and Oldsmar is Pinellas County but is very close to the Pasco County area as well); I think living in Pasco is becautiful, It's the best alternative, if you don't care about how the commute is going to be, The best thing to do to get answers, call up the local Neighborhood Watches for each neighborhood your buying into, call up the Local Civic Organizations and find out what they have to say. The neighborhood watch is not going to give you the sales pitch but they will be honest.

There are some retail store openings. You can also go to www.usajobs.gov and look for local jobs like at the VA Hospital. Here is the site for state of Florida jobs. https://jobs.myflorida.com/index.html People who say they will do any kind of work find no work. An employer wants a resume with a specific job on it and then your qualifications. Is it sales work you want, bookkeeping, waitressing? Do you want to be a companion for disabled and elderly people, which is hourly work? Look in the yellow pages under nursing agencies. You do not have to be a CNA to do companion work which is preparing food, cleaning, shopping, etc., work that does not entail touching the person.

About Can Tampa Folks Please Give Me A Comprehensive Job Report

Can Tampa Folks Please Give Me A Comprehensive Job Report?
I'm considering a move from Atlanta to Tampa. But everyone I've talked to from Tampa has repeated the same warning, "only move to Tampa if your being transferred from your current company"......I need to know if there's a strong business community in Tampa. I work in corporate sales and HR. Are there 40k - 60k corporate positions there? Thank you so much for your feedback good people of Tampa.

I would do some research through Forbes Magazine. They rated Tampa, out of fourty cities, last place as a city for young business people to move to. Last Sunday ABC Action News station preemted morning broadcasting to air a special with newcaster Brendan Mc Laughlin and an executive from Forbes Magazine about the low rating Tampa recieved. This was a very good interview, if you can find it, I would check it out before moving toTampa. Here's their link: http://www.abcactionnews.com/Default.aspx Good luck.
